GeoCloudConvert

This command-line tool was developed to support the Adaptation Atlas for processing, quality checking, and converting large volumes of climate and geospatial data. It provides a simple and efficient interface for managing both raster and vector files, with a focus on cloud optimization and interoperability. The tool facilitates workflows for inspecting file metadata, converting raster datasets to Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs (COGs), converting vector datasets to GeoParquet format, and fast and memory efficient calculation of QAQC statistics for raster data.

cloud-convert was designed to promote best practices in geospatial data management and to streamline the preparation of datasets for cloud-based analysis environments. It has been tested and used extensively in QAQC and publishing of datasets for the Africa Agriculture Adaptation Atlas.
