Gender and climate security training module: Understanding climate-driven risks to peace and security from an intersectional gender lens
The overall purpose of this training module is to enhance understanding of how gender and intersectionality shape experiences of climate change and their implications for everyday peace and security. This is achieved by developing pathways that link climate change, peace, security, and gender. The module forms part of the Gender and Climate Security Course and may be used either as a stand-alone participatory learning resource or alongside other modules in the course. It provides a ready-to-use teaching resource for educators across a range of learning and training contexts. The module is intended for analysts, policymakers and programme practitioners working in climate change, peacebuilding, conflict prevention, security, gender equality and women’s empowerment, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected settings that are increasingly exposed to climate-related shocks and intersecting crises.
