Case Study
Co-developed digitized crop-activity data tool strengthens Kenyan governmental reporting on crop greenhouse gas emissions
In collaboration with Kenyan county stakeholders, the project team developed a tool that enables Kenya to generate high-quality, locally sourced crop-activity data. This significantly improves the accuracy, policy relevance, and transparency of national agricultural greenhouse gas emission (GHGE) reporting. Between 2023 and 2025, the Bioversity–CIAT Alliance worked with Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), also with support from the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT).
