This training workshop was held to build capacity of AKM Glitters (AKMG) and its value chain actors on climate resilience, regenerative agriculture and gender inclusion. Organized by CIAT—International Center for Tropical Agriculture, the workshop took place in Iringa from 23 - 25 September 2025 and in Morogoro from 13 - 14 October 2025, bringing together 79 participants that include local government officials from the district and regional level, agri-input supplier, value chain experts from the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) center of Uyole, and CIAT staff. The workshop aimed to equip SMEs, smallholder farmers and other value chain actors with practical knowledge and tools to implement regenerative agriculture techniques, improve climate risk management, and strengthen their business models for long-term sustainability. Key sessions covered topics such as climate-smart agriculture, soil health restoration, cost benefit assessment, good agronomic practices, gender and social inclusion. Participants actively engaged in interactive sessions and group discussions, which fostered peer learning and collaboration. The workshop culminated in actionable commitments from SMEs to work with the farmers to integrate regenerative practices into their operations and explore partnerships for scaling climate-resilient innovations. Overall, the training was successful in raising awareness, enhancing technical capacity, and catalysing a network of SMEs committed to sustainable agricultural transformation in Tanzania.
