CIAT soil best-bets compendium for sustainable land management

This Best-Bets Compendium identifies and describes in detail the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices, methods, technologies and/or initiatives that have the potential to maintain or increase the organic matter and fertility of soils. The information was extracted from a retired website prepared in 2016 by Rolf Sommer, David Godiah and Juliet Braslow, as authors. The current document is an improvement over the initial one as it integrates information on additional practices involving biochar and enhanced rock weathering (ERW), alongside linking the practices with more information documented and available in the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT) database.
