Here we report on the adoption of Urochloa hybrids – improved forage grasses – by farmers in the SAAF focal countries of Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya, Malawi, Malaysia, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia in 2024. The number of adopters was estimated based on the area sown, average farm size, and household size. The total number of people living in newly adopting households in 2024 is estimated at 106,561, comprising 4,319 in Cambodia, 5,503 in Colombia, 9,287 in Kenya, 2,464 in Malawi, 27,607 in Malaysia, 54,712 in Uganda, 1,135 in Vietnam, and 1,534 in Zambia. Support for the distribution of Urochloa hybrids was provided through the SAAF program. Consistent with previous years, we are using the year before the reporting year as we receive seed sales data from our private partner with a 1-year lag.
