Adapting and scaling agro-climatic bulletins in Vietnam: A multi-stakeholder review following the 2025 administrative reform

The meeting, held on 6 May 2026 in Dong Thap Province, reviewed the implementation of Agro-Climatic Bulletins (ACBs) during the Winter–Spring 2025–2026 season in the Mekong River Delta, with particular attention to Can Tho City and Dong Thap and An Giang provinces. It also examined how ACB implementation could be sustained and strengthened under Viet Nam’s evolving administrative structure. Discussions focused on operational adaptations needed to sustain implementation during administrative restructuring; opportunities to strengthen data management and institutional coordination; digital innovation through the ACB Builder; and pathways for scaling ACB implementation in 2026 and beyond. The meeting brought together representatives from the national Plant Production and Protection Department (PPPD) under Viet Nam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Plant Production and Protection Sub-Departments (Sub- PPPDs), Provincial Hydrometeorological services, the PPPD Southern Regional Center, and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (the Alliance).
