Oscar Estrada Vargas

Oscar is a Senior Research Associate in the Digital Inclusion lever at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. He is an agronomist engineer from the National University of Colombia, a technologist in electronics from the University of Quindío, and holds a Master’s degree in Data Science from ICESI University.

He works as a data scientist on projects across Latin America, specializing in data-driven crop modeling and digital agriculture, applying Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to analyze and interpret agricultural data.

With over 13 years of experience in research, digital agriculture, and technology transfer, he leverages strong technical expertise, digital tools, and a deep understanding of agricultural systems to deliver innovative solutions that enhance productivity, promote sustainability, and help close the digital divide among farmers.
