Mónica Juliana Chavarro Rodríguez

Monica is a feminist anthropologist with a master’s degree in Sustainable Development. She currently works as a Research Specialist for the Multifunctional Landscapes Team at Alliance Bioversity International and CIAT. She has over eight years of experience leading projects that integrate gender perspectives and social inclusion into rural development initiatives in Latin America. She has designed and implemented participatory methodologies that empower diverse communities and promote sustainability through a territorial approach. Her professional experience includes processes related to food sovereignty, climate resilience, the care economy, and peacebuilding that recognize women's contributions and address inequalities. Mónica is currently the coordinator of the Sustainable Productive Landscapes project. In this role, she promotes coordination among stakeholders and social appropriation to advance equitable and sustainable reconversion and innovation.
