Leroy Mwanzia

Leroy is the Senior Manager for global data management and open science at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. He is one of the theme leaders for the Performance, Innovation, and Strategic Analysis for Impact (PISA4Impact) area.

With over 20 years of experience, he is a seasoned leader in the data and digital technology domains and a firm believer in the role of data as a critical organizational asset. At the Alliance, Leroy collaborates with others to position data and information as strategic assets in international agricultural research. He is responsible for a range of areas, including data governance, management, engineering, science, and systems development, as well as information management and the advancement of open science.

Driven by the transformative potential of data and technology, Leroy consistently advocates for and strives toward innovation, ethics, and excellence. He has a track record working with organizations across the Agriculture, Health, Education, and Trade sectors.
