Allison Poulos

I am a Monitoring and Evaluation specialist, interested in breaking silos and fostering cross-team collaboration to drive process improvements and create platforms that facilitate access to evidence for decision making and showcase our contributions towards impact.

My journey at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT began on the 1st of March 2007 to provide project coordination to a large UNEP-GEF project on Crop Wild Relatives. I transitioned into program management and played a pivotal role in coordinating the CGIAR Research Programs. Currently, I am a Senior Officer within the Strategic Performance and Results Management Unit, where I align and integrate our Monitoring and Evaluation information with the Alliance's systems and platforms.

Before joining the Alliance, I worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization for five years on a Food Security, Animal Health and Plant Health platform, contributing to global efforts to improve food security. Prior to coming to Rome, I was based in Boston, Massachusetts where I had the opportunity to work with a nutrition-based start-up which used big data to help retailers make healthier choices at the supermarket. I also worked as a Research Dietitian at Massachusetts General Hospital and as a Clinical Dietitian at Shriners Hospital for Children.

I hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, and I am a Registered Dietitian. I have also recently earned my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Luiss University in Rome, Italy.

In my free time I enjoy windsurfing, running, pilates and the good food in Rome!
