Michelle Bonatti

Agronomy Engineer by the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, with a master’s degree in Rural Development from Buenos Aires University, Argentina, and a Ph.D. degree from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. She is a conflict Mediator and Educator for Sustainable Development at Santa Catarina University, Brazil. She has worked on eight research projects and five NGOs, published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, and received four prizes for her academic performance. In addition, she worked as a consultant at FAO.

In collaboration with CGIAR and other institutions, she implemented projects about sustainable land use and the co-creation of knowledge in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Since 2015, she has been a lecturer at the Humboldt University of Berlin on Environmental Policy and works at the Leibniz-Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research - ZALF (Germany) as deputy head of the Susland group.
