Inauguration of the Alliance offices with NARO, and launch of CGIAR Research Portfolio in Uganda
On 22nd March 2023, The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT-Uganda will be officially inaugurating its offices for the Uganda office. The Alliance Africa region is headquartered in Nairobi Kenya and its second biggest office and operations are based in Kampala, Uganda. The office in Uganda is hosted by the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) with site offices at the National Agricultural Research Laboratories (NARL) at Kawanda Kampala.
The main goal of this event is to celebrate our partnership with various national key institutions, as well as to showcase the work we do and how it aligns with the country's priorities. The partners who have been significant in shaping and ensuring success of the office in Uganda. The research is carried out by close collaboration with hundreds of partner organizations, including national and regional research institutes, civil society organizations, academia, and the private sector. The Alliance has been working in close collaboration with the Ugandan Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) through NARO in advancing agricultural research to enhance agricultural production and marketing and improve food security.
During the event, the efforts of CGIAR in Uganda will also be presented, with a focus on the Initiatives carrying work in the country, in order to foster collaboration between Uganan agricultural organizations.
