Juliana Muriel

Juliana has been involved with the Alliance since 2014 in different research roles and she became the Program Management Officer for the Food Environment and Consumer Behavior (FECB) Research Area in October 2020. Her role focuses on streamlining programmatic and oversight level support as well as maximizing efficiency in the FECB’s operations.

Juliana plays a key role in facilitating the coordination between Research and Non-Research Administrative Support Units involved in the Project Cycle and she works mainly but not exclusively on three fronts: 1) Finance; 2) Grants; 3) Staff management.

Juliana has more than 4 years of project management of research for development programs. She is an Agricultural Economist, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in International Cooperation and Development Project Management from the Universidad Externado of Colombia and a M.A in Latin American Studies with Specialization in Development and Economic Analysis from the University of Florida. She is based in Cali, Colombia.
Juliana is passionate about rural development and agricultural innovations and a faithful believer that effective program management is critical for driving rural development initiatives that improve people’s lives.
