Jorge Mario Diaz Luengas (ex-officio)

Jorge Mario Diaz holds a BSc Degree in Agronomy from the National University of Colombia and a Master’s Degree in Economics from North Carolina State University.

Since March 2019, Mr. Diaz is the Executive Director of AGROSAVIA, the Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research.

From 2012 to 2019, he was Vice-President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, responsible for public private partnerships to strengthen business development. While, from 2007 to 2012, Mr. Diaz was Executive Director of the Colombian Aquiculture Research Center CENIACUA.

He has also worked as consultant for multilateral agencies such as World Bank, Interamerican Development Bank BID, FAO, UNDP among others in areas related to agricultural and rural development, in particular in designing policy instruments for the development of the coffee sector in Colombia (2005-2007) and mechanisms to strengthen institutions and financing for agricultural science and technology (2003-2005).

From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Diaz worked for CIRAD, the French agricultural research and international cooperation organization.

He has also held public positions as Director of Sector Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and as Director of Sustainable Rural Development of the National Planning Department (2000-2002).
